To be human is to be a storyteller. We all love to create stories around events — This is what we call a Narrative Identity in cognitive science and psychology. Think about all the mythologies, movies, and epic stories that live in all of our consciousness about people we know ... so we have a narrative for ourselves as well! These stories and events are both short tales and generational stories (just think about a story you've heard being told in your family and how it gets passed down), all full of twists and turns, and in some ways, we live them every day.
Whether you know it or not, at the heart of these stories are universal themes. Time and time again, we live out these tales and go on our own heroic journeys that match the epic proportions of the movies we love, no matter how small they might seem to others.
Think of archetypes as inner POTENTIALS, ALLIES, and GUIDES that are always available to you. They’re the lights and shadows along the journey of finding and expressing your true self. Archetypes help you form a basic narrative identity, and once you get good at understanding yourself this way, archetypes can also help you evolve your Narrative identity (because it changes as we change)!
We see patterns in the interactions we have in life, cast ourselves in the role of the main character or a supporting role, and define ourselves by these characteristics. These attributes and personalities make up what we call archetypes — A set of symbols, meanings, and personal narratives that continue to show up in our lives and how we act out in the world.
These archetypes give us the strength to help us prepare for our long journeys to becoming more of ourselves. An important thing to remember about archetypes is that they are not one-size-fits-all. Instead, when you begin to discover them, you realize that you’ve been all of them at different times in life. Based on what’s going on in life and the situation you’re facing, you might need one more than the other. Different archetypes might be your go-to at different points in your life. Likewise, you might later realize ones that don’t fit well with certain situations, or ones maybe you want to become more secondary and let another primary energy come to the foreground of your life.
Archetypes are fluid energies we all possess, and each one of them serves us in different ways. What really matters is getting to know the one you always call on (even without your conscious knowing), and working with the one that is best suited for you right now. You already embody them and encounter them in daily situations and interactions you have with others, so welcome them for real as part of this incredible journey to your self-mastery.
MEETING YOUR ARCHETYPE FOR THE FIRST TIME
How do I get into it?
It's your first Quest! After your archetype has been unlocked, you will discover your archetype's qualities and get to know it/yourself better. It's a pivotal point in your evrmore journey.
SHIFTING, CHANGING, NEVER THE SAME ...
How do I change into another archetype or discover the other archetypal qualities in me?
In the beginning, you can return to the archetype Quest and see if your archetype is changing based on how you feel. You can do this as many times as you like and every time you feel differently about yourself or your situation. Soon after you have used evrmore for a while, the AI will be able to detect these inner shifts, so based on how your situation is changing, your archetype will be automatically mapped out to show you the shifting energies you're bringing into your daily life.
